So easy it's addictive.

About a millenia ago, I mentioned in passing that I’d have a tutorial for these super easy shmeezy headbands that I can’t stop making for mini (and a few for Lise).  I’d almost forgotten about it, but made a few more (since mini’s head is getting big) and thought I’d quick pop this up here.  These are so ridiculously easy that you don’t even need a tutorial.  Really.  You could do it without any help from me, but I took pictures, so I’ll show you how to do it anyway and then you can join the “addicted to ‘No sew Ribbon Bands’ club” along with me.
You’ll need
some pretty ribbon
small bits of contrasting ribbon
hair elastics
measuring tape
scrissors
a hot glue gun

First, you’ll need to measure around your subject’s head.  For reference, an adult headband is usually somewhere around 18 inches.
Take a hair elastic in a complimentary color to the ribbon and cut it apart at the seam.
Now, lay out your measuring tape and lay your elastic along it.
Lay your ribbon along the measuring tape right after the elastic.
Make sure that both together equal the total length you want for the headband and cut the ribbon to that length.

Now flip your ribbon over, lay it flat and put some hot glue along one end of the ribbon.

Lay one end of the elastic in the middle of the ribbon.
Fold one side of the ribbon over the elastic,
then the other side.
Squeeze them together to make sure the glue is really adhering.  Don’t worry if it looks kind of messy, we’ll fix that.
Now do the same thing to the other side.
It’s a headband!  But it’s kind of a mess.
So take your contrasting ribbon and cut two small pieces.
Singe the ends with a lighter if you’re worried about fraying.
Put hot glue on the back of the ribbon and
lay your headband on the ribbon so that it overlaps spot where the elastic and headband meet.
Now just wrap the ribbon around it once and trim any excess.
Repeat on the other side.
And voila!
A no sew headband, just like that!
If you want to make this for a baby, just measure around the babies head and cut the elastic a bit smaller.
You’ll have time to make a bajillion.
And they are cute by themselves,
or embellished with a flower barrette (which you whipped up quick since you had so much time left over).
You can glue on a fun ribbon bow (also whipped up quickly),
or sew on some buttons.
I apologize that my model was sleeping so you have to put up with Foamy, here.
The possibilities are endless!  And because they are so easy to make, and take so little time, materials and effort, you don’t have to worry about being a commitment-phobe toward embellishments, like I usually am.  If I want one with buttons and one with bows, I’ll just make them both!  And then probably five more, too.
