Hair bling

My sister IL has requested hair bling from me in the past, so for Christmas I decided to make her a headband - but I wanted it to be different than the hair things I’ve already made for her.  As I was brainstorming, I remembered some vintage earrings I’d gotten at the thrift store many months ago with the intention of making some kind of cool brooch.  So, those vintage earrings, plus some flower-like vintage buttons on some white felt made this headband:
And here’s a close up of that cool earring (and of me and mini apparently.  Hi!):
While I was at it I decided to make a headband for my sister in law to be (mr’s little brother’s fiancee).  She’s got the prettiest dark hair, and in the pictures I’ve seen (I’ve yet to meet her) she always has some fun accessory in it.  I’ve been loving the zipper flowers floating around for the past year and whipped this up with some of my zipper stash:

I wish I could explain how I made it, but I don’t think I have the power over words that would require.  It’s more of a “show” thing, you know?  So, I may have to make some more of these just to show you how I did it.  I will tell you there was no sewing involved.  Because I figured if it looked good with hot glue, why should I deny my glue gun the opportunity?  Exactly.

Oh, and there are a ton of tutorials out there already for zipper flowers, I was just feeling lazy and didn't want to pull one up and print it...
Here’s a close up of the flowers:
And here is mini modeling:
She is half the reason why photo sessions with my creations don’t go according to plan.  The other top two reasons?  A - it gets dark at like 2 in the afternoon now.  It’s like I live in a cave.  2 - The sun refuses to shine in winter.  I think I’ve mentioned this before?  There’s a reason why everyone in this state has SAD.

I love that metal headband. It rivals some of the stuff I've seen in stores. I wish I had half your talent when it comes to crafts.

This is just ADORABLE!!!! Please, if you get the chance, do show how you did it. The only tutorial I have requires sewing, alot of sewing for some strange reason. A glue gun sounds MUCH more do-able!! Not that I have anything against my sewing machine....
