I’ll be back later to give you the full account, but in the meantime: a summary.  Monday Food Fest was full of food, unimpressed husbands, overly impressed dads, picky two year olds, stovetop frying, three (count them) THREE washing-the-bowl-and-beater-so-I-can-finish-the-food moments, NO FIRE ALARMS (yea!) and a big fat FAIL.
