Here’s a little known fact. I used to be horribly painfully shy. Bookworm, nerd, passed out if a guy spoke to me... the whole bit. I got older, made great friends and got involved with theatre, which molded and shaped me into a different, more outgoing, person. Still a nerd and bookworm, but at least I could talk to people. But sometimes, more and more often as I get older (isn’t that odd?) I still feel it bubbling down there beneath the surface - that shyness. That uncertainty and nervousness. So I feel myself blushing at the prospect of this post, not only because I’m getting all shy, but because it requires me to tell you even MORE about myself. But, I’ve been doing a lot of that lately, so what’s one more post?
See, the sweet, sweet Caroline of Atelier Caroline sent me a blog award! And here it is.
I can’t fully explain it, but I love that she thinks I have substance. So that was a nice little surprise.
I guess I need to sum up my blogging philosophy in only 5 words (which if you’ve read this blog for any amount of time, you know will be hard for me, because I’m “chatty”) but I’ll try:
- Sincere
- Comedic
- try
- retry
- create
Phew. Hard work. Who made these rules?
And THEN I got this little lovely from the rockin’ MaryAnne behind thepunkrockmom. (She’s got a photo challenge going on right now, you should check out)...
And I have to say, I’m honored. You guys... stop. Really. No, go on...
Now I have to tell you 7 things I haven’t told you before. Hmmm. Well:
- When I was a kid, I hated peanut butter. (Could be because my mom told me it was made out of cricket legs...) (and I was gullible)
- I like pink, almost as much as I like yellow. But not quite.
- I’ve been in over 70 theatre productions since I was 12 years old.
- I’m ashamed to admit, reverse psychology totally works on me. If you want me to do something, all you have to do is tell me I won’t or can’t. (which is how I ended up with a burst eardrum when I was 20 thanks to cliff diving because my then boyfriend said I wouldn’t.)
- I love climbing trees. I loved it when I was a kid and I still love it now.
- I go to church for 3 hours every Sunday, and sometimes I go on Wednesday too. By choice.
- This one's important, pay attention. I may be missing from blogland for just a bit, as I am having some
minorsurgerythat I will be milking for all it’s worth. I think I’m going to need a break to recuperate, but we’ll see. Don’t leave because I don’t post for a bit. Oh, and obviously, I'll respond to your comments and emails as soon as I can. And seriously, it’s nothing major.
Here’s where I break the rules. I just don’t read enough blogs to pass these out to like 20 people, so I’m just picking my faves and you really should check them out if you haven’t already. We’re talking good, good stuff here.
