my mom.
She made an adorable outfit for mini that I just can't help sharing.
She didn't use a pattern for the skirt, just made it up as she went along.
I love the pocket with the HUGE button!
And possibly my favorite part - the elastic casing has contrasting fabric on the inside! It's those little details that make me happy.
I also love that she covered a button with the skirt fabric to tie it into the shirt more.
Have I mentioned that I love covered buttons? (and buttons in general)
Obviously, mom needs to come over here and do some tutorials for us all. (hint, hint.)
Are you wondering why this outfit is being displayed flat on the table for the purposes of this post? Everyone knows clothing looks better on a model, right? Plain and simple - UNCOOPERATIVE MODEL.
You will most likely be seeing a lot more clothes on the table modeling from me - this little thing is a big time drama queen. Don't believe me?
Here's the whole process:
started out ok, but a little wiggly. Which means blurry pictures. |
She is actually giggling here. Which is great, except you can't see the outfit at all. |
Throw in the glow worm. Maybe she'll sit up and play... |
Finally on her feet, almost a clear shot. |
"Why must you do this to me??" |
She's about to blow, I can tell. |
And here she goes! |
"This is the most awful thing you've ever done to me!" |
"Oh. I'm fine. Thanks, Daddy!" |
"What?? You're putting me down again?" |
"I refuse to stand! Do you hear me?! REFUSE!" |
"Oh, the humiliation! All I can do is hide my head. And scream." |
"Save me! Save me!" The End |

That is a great outfit. I hope my daughters appreciate the clothing I make for their children half as much. Your little model is a doll even when she's having a melt down. Of course, that's easy for me to say since I'm not the one who has to deal with the melt down. I'm sure your mom likes seeing photos of her in the clothing, though.
ReplyDeleteLol! hilarious! Reminds me of my youngest! My girl is a complete ham though. My friend always cracks up because as soon as she gets her camera out my dd starts posing. Your mom did a great job...very cute. Come link up this weekend to my Sew Crafty Party! And check out the Spring Fling kick off on Sunday...14 Days...28 giveaways...lots of headbands! lol...I saw you liked them...
ReplyDeleteLive the fabric! I rarely get my kids to model because they are such little wiggle worms. Oh and thank you for taking the challenge. You will rock it and if to need to buy something for sytyc do it. I am not that mean.
ReplyDeleteIs it terrible that I love your posts of Mini throwing tantrums? lol I think if you had a whole blog of it I would read it daily. She's just so cute, and your captions are too funny!
ReplyDeleteDear Lord, I would love to meet this child. She is not only adorable but absolutely hilarious...thank you, 'Mini', for making me (and my husband!) giggle! :)
ReplyDeletePoor, poor Mini! Why must you torture her so?! :)
ReplyDeleteShe does look adorable though!
Oh my, DARLING skirt, but even cuter is the little one in it! She is so precious! I love how she pulls her legs up when your husband tries to put her down. Kids are so cute in the way they express themselves...
