What's the skeleton in YOUR closet??

Hey, folks!  I'm coming out of the closet over at Jia's today.  I didn't share anything crafty, but I did share a big old chunk of myself.  Right there.  For all to see.  Eek.

So if you'd like to read a little about me and a little about you and why we should all be nicer to ourselves, go over to Untypically Jia.  She likes Pepsi, too.  Like almost as much as I do.

me in a tree.  I should climb them more often.

  1. That was great, Kim...I can totally relate to everything you said, but the thing that struck me the most was the part about allowing yourself to feel. You know that I, too, suffer from over productive tear ducts and emotions!! You've ALWAYS made me feel that it's okay to express myself and that crying IS a strength and not a weakness. That was a life lesson that you, K, and El taught me growing up and it's made me feel stronger as a person and not ashamed. (and, I admit...I might have even shed a tear or two seeing all of our pictures on there... ;P Oh, and, dang! Why can't I be that skinny again??)

You played an enormous part in my life and helped make me the person I am today. I'm so grateful to have such a strong, beautiful woman in my life. Freckles and all.

    I love you lady.

  2. This is the first comment I have left on your page...as crazy as it seems since I love every one of your posts. This one I had to comment on because you need to know this. When I was a child I was always envious of you...your beauty (inside and out), how happy you were, how energetic, how confident, and I could go on and on. I wished I could be more like you! I just thought you should know that lol.
Oh and one more thing....when I was in second grade I got called a monkey because of my "side burns", hairy arms and legs, and my caterpillar eyebrows...my mom wouldn't let me shave until well into sixth grade. Kids are mean!

  3. I was the weird geeky poor kid with the big glasses and red hair that never fit in, anywhere.I have never seen or heard it put better than "I’m a “closet” no self-esteemer." Sometimes the most confident are just the ones who wear the best mask. I applaud you for sharing yourself like that, it shows that you have more confidence than you know :)
